About Southeast Molding
Southeast Molding is the Tennessee plant of Midwest Molding Inc., an employee-owned custom injection molder since 2000. We opened in Chattanooga in 2018 and moved to our plant in Cleveland, Tennessee, in 2023. Together, our two plants run more than 70 all-electric presses, from 45 to 1,800 tons, 24/7.

Our history
From nine presses to more than 70
We have grown one building, one press size and one customer program at a time, reinvesting in equipment, automation and space as our customers’ parts got bigger.
Our tool shop opens
The company-owned tool shop that builds our molds today starts building injection molds, more than a decade before Midwest Molding.
Founded in Plain City, Ohio
Midwest Molding opens as an injection molder and Toshiba Machine service center. Nine presses run in our original building through 2011.
A second building and a merger
We expand into a second building with 26,000 sq ft, and Triparagon combines into Midwest Molding, adding six presses.
One production floor
All presses move into the new building, and the original becomes our warehouse.
More space and our first robot
We add 12,000 sq ft to the second building, and our first 3-axis robot goes onto a 390-ton press. Today more than 40 run on our floor.
500 and 610 tons
Our first 500- and 610-ton presses go into our expanded production space.
Room for bigger presses
We rent a 50,000 sq ft warehouse at 8400 Industrial Parkway and convert 12,000 sq ft of warehouse into production floor with a 10-ton overhead crane for presses up to 950 tons.
950 tons
Our first two 950-ton presses arrive.
Into Tennessee
Southeast Molding, our Tennessee plant, opens in Chattanooga.
Employee-owned, on a cloud ERP
Midwest Molding becomes employee-owned through an ESOP, and we move onto the Plex cloud-based ERP system.
Everything under one roof
We buy the 130,000 sq ft building at 8400 Industrial Parkway, renovate it and move all production and warehousing under one roof. In Tennessee, Southeast Molding moves to its plant in Cleveland.
Real-time press monitoring
Press monitoring connects to our ERP, tracking OEE and equipment in real time.
1,800 tons
Our first 1,800-ton press goes into production.
Still growing
A 200,000 lb resin silo goes in, the overhead crane is extended for more presses, and construction starts on a 32,000 sq ft addition that connects both buildings at 8400 Industrial Parkway and adds warehouse space.
Employee-owned
Owned by the people who make your parts
Since 2020, Midwest Molding, including Southeast Molding, has been 100% employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Everyone on the floor, in the tool shop and in the office has a stake in the company, so the people molding your parts have every reason to get them right, shift after shift.
Our quality management system is ISO 9001 certified, and we support PPAP submissions at any level.
Why buyers choose us
The people running your job own the company
100% employee-owned
Through our ESOP, everyone on the floor has a stake in getting your part right.
